Lambertville was once a thriving factory town, where Jockey shorts and oyster crackers as well as shoes and pottery were manufactured. But today Lambertville "has evolved from a shot-and-a-beer town to a place so infused with art that it now competes for collectors who have long flocked across the river to New Hope, PA," according to a September 30, 2007 article in The New York Times. The article went on to say "there may be no other town in New Jersey that offers as much art in so dense a setting."
