Strawberry Season in Bucks County

Yes, the moment has finally arrived!

The moment that we all wait for every year... salivating... It's Strawberry Season!

Each and every year, fields of strawberries all over Pennsylvania start to burst into the color "red" as their plants begin to ripen and produce one the best family pastimes ever!

I've been picking strawberries since I was a kid and I have so many fond memories with my parents and then with my own son and now, with my grandson!

You, dear reader, are in for a real treat, because there are so many strawberry farms that will allow you to head right into the field and "pick your own", so bring a big bucket!

They usually charge around $1.50 per pound, or thereabouts, which is a bargain for the sweet homegrown taste that you get, not to mention the joy of picking the ones that you want!

The season is relatively short, so you should make your plans to go as soon as possible. It only runs from the end of May until the end of June (depending on the weather every year).

I've included a link here for you to take a look at and save you the trouble of tracking these places down yourself... It is a very long list of ALL of the places in Bucks County. This website includes more counties, but they are in alphabetical order and Bucks is listed second, so it's not too far down the page. :)

Here's the link: Pick Your Own Strawberries

So, get out there and enjoy it!

Have a great week,

Gail
