Pearl S. BuckHave you ever been to the Pearl S. Buck House to view all the history and artifacts of this amazing woman?

Not to mention her ongoing causes to benefit children and families here in the US and abroad.

Pearl S. Buck donated her 68-acre Bucks County Estate, known as "Green Hills Farm" in 1980 to her charitable organization, Pearl S. Bucks International (PSBI) and it continues to be an inspiring example of what a non-profit organization is and how it should function to help its targeted audience, in this case disadvantaged children around the world.

It is located in Perkasie, PA on Dunhill Road and is one of the few Historic Museums in the US open to the public.

Three phases of restoration on the estate began in 2005, and in 2007 Phase I was finished which included exterior restoration to the roof, shutters, masonry, window and door areas.

They began Phase II at the end of 2009 and this phase will include interior structural assessment and restoration to reinforce the foundations and support systems of the home for years.

You can view the progress in relatively "real time" over at the "Exposing the Beams" virtual blog.

I love to point out these cool little gems in our very own Bucks County in hopes that you don't miss something while you live here or know about it if you are planning to move here.

Either way, this one is a must-see!

Make this a great week....

Gail
