Reenactment George Washington & Troops Crossing Delaware River

Most people don't remember that Christmas Day 1776 changed the course of our country.

One of the coolest things to do on Christmas (especially if you're a history buff who wants a bit of a break from the gift-giving and food-eating) is to visit the Re-enactment of George Washington and his troops crossing the Delaware River during the Revolutionary War in 1776.

The re-enactors leave from exact site (now Washington Crossing State Park in Upper Makefield Township) where General Washington's Continental Army crossed the Delaware River on a frigid Christmas night in treacherous, choppy waters, horses and all, and marched to Trenton, New Jersey where they attacked and defeated Hessian t...
