Bucks County School Districts
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Bucks County Schools
Ah, the Bucks County School Districts...
I remember being quite confused way back when my little one was going to school and I'm sure that it's still quite a maze when trying to learn about the different boundaries and where you child will be going to school versus where you actually live...
Honestly, there is no better person to talk to than a real estate agent about this very issue, due to the fact that we deal with this every day as new families move to the area and want to know where to buy their new home in relation to where they want their kids to go to school.
Well... there are 16 different school districts in total and you can view each of their websites below for all the juicy...

Habitat for Humanity in Bucks County
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Community Activities

Have you ever felt like you're not contributing to your community enough?
Now, this certainly isn't a guilt trip at all, but rather a comment as I, myself, feel like I should be doing more.
As in... rolling up my sleeves, grabbing a hammer and helping build one or two Habitat for Humanity Homes with a great group of new people and all for a good cause.
Ok, I don't expect to see myself doing this full-time, but once a year maybe, it could be fun!
If you're curious, like I was, then check out Habitat Bucks and see if it's interesting enough to take the challenge.
Contact Laura at l.mcclellan@habitatbucks.org or 215.822.2812 x302 if you'd like a more direct contact...
Have a gr...

Any New Year's Resolutions?
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Personal
Yes, the New Year is off to a great start and I am always asked in my office if I've made any New Year's Resolutions... and my answer every year is usually the same old boring attempts that I say every year.
So this year, without stressing myself out with the word "resolution" in the first place, I am going make a promise to myself to stay super positive and partake in this current economy on MY own terms.
I also want to rachet up my business and help more people buy and sell their homes! ;)
So, what are your New year's "Commitments" to yourself this year??
Do tell.
Have a great week,
Gail :)

Bucks County Christmas Shopping
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Shopping
I just L-O-V-E the Christmas Season, don't you?
All the decorations and food and smells throughout the house... it really is something to anticipate every single year... I just never get tired of it.
Gift-giving on the other hand, does seem to get a tad more tedious every year as I never know just what to get everyone on my list.
Well, I've found myself the past few years resorting to more "personal" (translate: handmade and typically cheaper) gifts, which I think goes farther in the "I care about you" realm.
I did, however, find a cute website shop that sells handmade dolls and trinkets that I thought were quite unique. It's called Byer's Choice and they handmake all different types...

Bucks County Free Library System
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Bucks County Schools
I’ve been wondering lately when was the last time I've visited a library?
If my memory serves me correctly, it’s been about a decade!
Well, that is just uncalled for because I have the main "Free Public Library Branch" right here in Doylestown and it's just a darn shame that I don't take full advantage of its resources.
Here's an interesting snippet from their website:
"Libraries have been a part of life in Bucks County for over three hundred years. In fact, the county is home to several of our nation’s oldest libraries. These days, the seven Bucks County Free Library branches in Bensalem, Doylestown, Langhorne, Levittown,...

Bucks County Children's Cultural Center
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Arts and Culture
Have you ever been to the Children's Cultural Center of Bucks County?
Thanks to Jackie Liney, this beautiful facility was established in 1990 and has extended its arms to more than 24,000 young people in Bucks County.
Otherwise known as CCC, the group has taught the value of preserving their hometown's historical and cultural heritage to Bucks County's youth.
These programs include "Workshops On Wheels" which goes from classroom to classroom to enhance the social studies curriculum from preschoolers to 6th graders. Students get to learn more about topics such as dinosaur fossils and evolution in a more interactive environment.
"High Tech Teens" is a project that revolves around narro...

Bucks County Farms Fresh Produce
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Agriculture
Ok, so do you love to cook as much as I do?
I'm finding that health junkies and chef-wannabes are just as overwhelmed as I am by the vast choices of the produce at Bucks County's Farms.
From rhubarb to zucchini, which grow between April and November, cherries and potatoes, from June to December and those luscious pears and cantaloupes, that flood the farms and end up as dessert on our tables, in August, it is a fulltime job keeping up with all of the great produce that we can find in our veryopwn county!
As well, we are spoiled with incredible local wines and even home-spun honey stright off the hives throughout the year. No complaints here.
The best part? Everything is grown org...

Have You Seen Jim Henson's Fantastic World Exhibit Yet?
Posted By: Pam Bertrand In: Family Activities

There are few things in life that touch so many people's lives in such a positive way... leaving just a little more joy in its place than was there before.
No one can deny that the master artistry and creative genius of Jim Henson was revolutionary and ground-breaking in his work with the characters that children from all over the world have fallen in love with and have come to enjoy for much of their lives.
Big Bird, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and many others continue to delight children to this day and understanding the man behind these characters is the opportuity that we, here in Bucks County, have available to us until November 29th at the beautiful new exhibition space within ...
